This AP Walsh Pocket Chronometer contains all the features associated with a top quality chronometer: Duo in Uno balance spring, free spring detent escapement and power reserve indication. It is in need of repair at present. The balance staff back pivot is broken so it needs a new balance staff. Other than that fault, the watch is in good original condition. The spring detent escapement is in original working order.
The dial, which has the usual UP DOWN indication is inscribed, “Saml. Hammond, New york 296”. The business relationship of A P Walsh and Samuel Hammond has been documented and is available through McItyre.com
