A Regency style cane seat mahogany carver.

Details:

This rather unusual chair was made here as a pattern for two that were required to complete a set of dining chairs. Style and detail are typical of the heyday of regency fashion. The opposed sabre-legs are taken from the ancient Greek Klismos chair that was popularised in the Georgian / Regency era. The cane seat is woven into a loose mahogany frame.
