Details of Chair 1526
Set of Six French Carved Walnut Dining Chairs.
Details: Very detailed carving in the walnut frames of these six chairs – made in the classic French style with abundant upholstery. The provenance is unknown and the date – my guess is late 19th century. There is some quite minor upholstery work needed on a couple of them but structurally they are very sound and quite undamaged. They are a little unusual in Ireland and probably not conformable with the strong Irish appetite for mahogany.
