George IV Mahogany Foldover Tea-table
Details: A beautiful foldover tea-table in very good original condition..
Made in the early 1800s as a show-piece: The top is veneered with a strikingly well figured Cuba mahogany and edged with a cross-bandeding of Brazilian Rosewood.
The veneer on the base is of the same figure and matches that of the top.
It retains original brass castors mounted on inverted reeded mahogany bosses.
The top turns through 90 degrees and opens to form the square table-top.
